Peter Funsten is a transactional attorney who specialized in the representation of high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and venture capital investors. As such, Mr. Funsten’s law practice involves engaging with a wide range of business related issues in the following industries: hospitality, medical technology, medical practice, and entertainment. Much of Mr. Funsten’s work involves advising clients on corporate structures, estate planning, and succession planning. Mr. Funsten has been responsible for the organization and financing of some of the most successful medical device companies, surgery centers, restaurants, breweries, and wineries and in their continued successful operation. Funsten and Franzen represents clients in sophisticated mergers and stock or asset sales across a broad range of industries. Mr. Funsten claims more than thirty years of experience counseling and proudly represents businesses of all types, from their inception to final sale.

Don E. Franzen, Esq.

Attorney at law

Don Franzen’s practice focuses on the entertainment industry, including recordings, theatrical and stage, film and television, live entertainment, celebrity rights issues, business formation, copyright and trademark, and tax and visa issues. In addition to his legal work he has acted as an executive producer or producer on video and recording projects involving major performing artists such as Placido Domingo, Arturo Sandoval, Yanni and Jonathan Antoine. Mr. Franzen has been involved in the creation of the Los Angeles Opera and has served on its board of directors since 1986. He has lectured on entertainment law for the Santa Monica Academy of Entertainment and Technology, the Colburn School of Music, the Berklee School of Music (Valencia, Spain), the Eastman School of Music and is an adjunct professor in the Music Industry Program at UCLA. He has authored articles and book reviews on a variety of legal topics. He is a fellow at the USC Institute for the Humanities, a member of board of Heyday Books, and the legal affairs editor for the Los Angeles Review of Books. In addition to his native English, he also speaks Spanish, Italian and conversational German. He is married with three children.
